Billa Romania has completed the refurbishing and redesign process of its store located in the Titan neighborhood, in Bucharest.
Following the redesign, the store’s sales area dedicated to fresh products was increased by 70 percent, new display windows and a delicatessen area were added and 1,000 more products are now available. Revamping the stores required EUR 0.5 million.
Billa Romania runs 61 stores locally. The company’s turnover amounted to RON 1.14 billion (approximately EUR 270 million) in 2011, down RON 80 million (approximately EUR 19 million) y-o-y, according to data from the Finance Ministry.
The retailer has plans to step up expansion this year by opening more than 10 new supermarkets after last year it opened six.
Part of German Rewe Group, Billa has been present in Romania since 1999.
