The visitors of the Gaudeamus International Fair will be able to test for the first time, this year, a unique interactive installation that transforms the reading into a visual perspective created by the reader’s brain.

„Laboratorul de imaginar” (The imaginary laboratory) is an installation signed by the stage designer Adrian Damian and BRD – Groupe Société Générale, in partnership with CINETic, that means the using of neural headsets for measuring the cerebral waves and their transforming into visual projections that are different depending on the intensity of the emotions felt while reading.

The interactive solutions presented in the “Imaginary laboratory” capture and interpret the brain’s activity during the reading process, including the technology of detecting the eyes, video mapping and a personalized app, everything in order to capture and attract the intensity of the emotions generated by the representative passages of the universal literature.

„I find it fabulous that we can visualize the waves that our brain sends during reading and the way they generate imaginary worlds. I strongly believe that the work of art is not the one standing in front of you, but the way that it forms in your mind,” added the stage designer Adrian Damian.

Adrian Damian is three times UNITER awards nominated for the shows „Viata e vis” (Life is dream) and „Iarna” (Winter), in Mihai Maniutiu’s direction, as well as for „Cantareata cheala”(The bold singer), in Radu-Alexandru Nica’s direction, a play that brought him the UNITER award for stage design in 2016. Moreover, he received the award for best scenography from the Plastic Artists Union in 2015 and from the Theater Critics Association in Hungary in 2016.
