Mastercard rolls out CEE campaign with World Food Program

Between September 1 and October 1, Mastercard will donate over 3.5 million meals to the children in Rwanda as part of an international campaign in partnership with the World Food Program and the Auchan retailer. At a local level, Mastercard supports the children’s education, through its partnership with the organization SOS Satele Copiilor Romania.

A simple gesture can make the difference for millions of children that don’t have lunch at school. The initiative is part of a new campaign Priceless Causes developed by Mastercard in several countries in the CEE, in order to support the World Food Program that offers innovative solutions for the fight against hunger among the pupils. It’s the second year in which Mastercard involves such a large number of countries.

“In the time when all eyes are oriented towards the generations of pupils that are getting ready for their first year of school and the commercial centers are full of parents that choose books, uniforms and schoolbags, we are glad to be able to help the children that couldn’t enjoy this effervescence or, even worse, may never see the inside of a school,” said Diana Tanase, marketing manager for Romania at Mastercard.
