The National Eurovision Selection 2017: only 6 more days for entries

Ovidiu Anton, the winner of 2016’s National Selection, comes back on Eurovision Romania’s stage. The artist will be performing a concert on Sunday, 26^th of February, in the competition’s semi-final, where he will sing alongside his band Anton their newest songs, but also the hit that brought him the Eurovision Romania 2016’s Trophy: Moment of Silence.

„I am glad I will be having the concert during the National Eurovision Romania selection alongside my band. I am doing it in the first place for the Eurovision’s fans that supported us and for all the Romanians that were beside me. We will sing some of the new tracks that we’ve been working on in the last half year. Anton keeps going,” said the winner of the 2016’s National Selection.

The composers that want to participate in the Eurovision National Selection have six more days at their disposal in order to enter their songs at the TVR Registry or electronic, at the address eurovision.romania@tvr.ro. On Sunday, January 22nd 2017, the entering period will close and the Eurovision Romania team will send the materials to the members of the jury.

This year, for the first time in the Romania’s participation to Eurovision, the jury will decide the National Selection semi-finalists in a TV show. The artists will interpret their songs in the TVR studios, on Friday, 27, Saturday, 28, and Sunday 29 of January, in front on the jury and the guests that are supporting them from the tiers.

Also for the first time in the history of the National Selection, the recording of the auditions will be broadcasted in the period 5-11 February in a show offered in exclusivity by TVR 2, TVR HD and TVR International.

In the end, the fans will find out the names of the 15 semi-finalists of the 2017’s National Selection that will remain in the race for a ticket to the Kiev stage.

The semi-final of the selection will take place on Sunday, 26^th of February 2017, while the Final will be held on the 5^th of March. The winner of the National Selection will be exclusively chosen by the public, via TV voting.

The Eurovision Song Contest 2017 will take place in Kiev, with semi-finals on the 9 and 11 of May and the Final on 13^th of May. Alongside Romania in the competition will enter other 42 countries.
