Alexandru Oprea, general manager and chairman of the Board of Directors with RCS&RDS, stops working as of April 14 for the company after 18 years of activity, according to a press release quoted by Mediafax.

According to the RCS&RDS release, Alexandru Oprea had “a significant contribution in positioning the company as a strong player on the telecommunications market in Romania, but also as an important media corporation composed of nine TV channels”.

“I am honored to have been able to participate in the development and consolidation of a company which I consider exemplary for the private sector in Romania. I am certain that, in telecommunications, RCS&RDS will continue to be a reference name and will stay at least as competitive. I also wish that Digi Sport and Digi 24 projects, as well as the documentary and film channels to continue its ascension and to remain the same media endeavors towards civilization and professionalism, as they were designed. I wish for the future, whenever I will be hearing about RCS&RDS and about the Digi corporation, to be proud that I was part of this remarkable project,” said Alexandru Oprea.

RCS&RDS thanked Alexandru Oprea for his contribution to the evolution of the company and the fulfillment of his projects.

The company has not announced yet who will take the lead of the company after Alexandru Oprea’s leaving.

RCS&RDS is one of the most important companies on the cable and satellite television market in Romania, being controlled by businessman Zoltan Teszari.
