Newsroom 24/03/2016 | 17:02

The biggest job fair in town – Angajatori de TOP – is here. This week, people from Bucharest and the surroundings are dedicating 2 days for their career. The event will take place on Friday until Saturday, included (25th-26th March), at Sala Palatului. Over 10 000 specialists, students and fresh graduates are expected at the event, where they will get in touch with 300 HR professionals gathered from the 100 participating companies. There will be 5000 open jobs and over 700 internship/trainee positions.

“From our experience and the feedback received so far from the employers with whom we have been collaborating for over 10 years, we can say that this year will be extremely competitive. Many employers are forming their teams, and the number of hiring is larger than the one in the past few years, fact that can be observed also from the number of opened jobs increased by 25% from the last year within the event. Given the circumstances, attracting relevant and valuable candidates will represent a focus point for HR specialists. Angajatori de TOP job fair creates the perfect environment both for the employers as for candidates as well, being one of the preferred recruiting channels, due to the possibility of getting to know the potential job applicants and having a first contact with them.”- declared Cristina Caratas, Project Manager of Angajatori de TOP Bucharest.

There are some positions for which employers encounter difficulties in the recruiting process, and from our research the most frequent ones are met, in general, in the foreign languages domains, on jobs that require German, Hungarian, Bulgarian, Slovene, Croatian, Danish, Dutch or Greek knowledge. Besides these ones, the competition gets serious in some technologies that many employers chase, especially for skills on programs such as C++, PHP, Java, but also for the engineering, transportation and logistic profiles, as well.

Within the Angajatori de TOP career fair, the 100 companies come from over 14 domains of activity, and the opened positions are addressed both to professionals as well as to candidates with a medium level of experience and to the entry-level ones. Besides the 5000 jobs available, the companies also opened over 700 internship and trainee positions addressed to students and recent graduates. 58% of the companies want to recruit between 5 to 10 interns, 25% – between 10 and 20 interns, 13% of the companies have planned for recruiting over 20 interns and 4% of them want to recruit over 50 interns. The preferred specializations are diverse, and the opened positions are on departments such as Marketing, HR, Acquisitions, Logistics, Sales, Legal matters, Audit & Aid, Finance and Production.

Find out what a former participant who is now employed say about the event:

“Regarding my participation to Angajatori de TOP, I consider it to be a benefic experience as I found out what exactly an employer is expecting from a future employee. My presence at the event was accidental, my intention being majorly on informing myself and not be recruited. Getting to Stefanini stand, I asked for more information about the company and what it would a job interview imply. Taking into consideration the fact that I knew German at a certain level, it has been offered to me the possibility of working part-time (4 hours/day) and I’ve decided to apply. I’ve appreciated the fact that, though I hadn’t a resume on me, I had the possibility to fill in a form on the basis of which I would later come to an interview. The recruiting process moved very fast (I was expecting a few weeks distance until the hiring), thing that I also appreciated. A recommendation for this year’s participants at the Angajatori de TOP fair would be for them to get the best out of this event, to inform themselves and apply for the job, if they think it would suit them. The experience makes it worthwhile, and they have nothing but to benefit from it.” – Yulduza Seidova – IT Helpdesk Technician, Stefanini Romania.

4 types of “job seekers”. The Angajatori de TOP fair from this spring comes to its 20th edition, having 10 years in which more than 220 000 candidates have participated within seeking career opportunities. I observed there are many candidates’ typologies, according to the objectives they are coming to the event for or the type of personality they have and their professional traits.

  • – The OBSERVER – these are the people interested in finding out which is the current situation on the labor market. They are the ones who always want to be informed about how things look for the moment they will apply for a job. They visit companies’ stands and participate at career-development workshops.
  • – The RESEARCHER – are the ones who want to apply for a job but not before getting informed very carefully regarding career opportunities offered by employers and how well they fit on the given job. This type of people participate at the workshops powered by the companies, they research the participating ones before coming to the event, want and get to know what the recruiting process consists in and which is the organizational culture, and just after that they are convinced to apply to only a selected range of employers.
  • – The NETWORKER – are the ones who emphasize on the interaction with companies employees. They are highly sociable and go through the entire event just for discussing with recruiting specialists, from the companies’ stands till participating at diverse workshops for socializing with fair’s visitors and participants who share the same passions and interests.
  • – The HUNTER – The ones with a very clear objective – they want to go home with the desired job! They know the list of the participating companies and they also know exactly whom the employers they want to apply for are. These are the candidates that interact very easily with the present employees, are well-informed and have a self-pitch prepared, just for making sure they will get a place within the desired companies.
