The Best Community Development Initiative among NGOs was the second category announced in the BR Awards ceremony tonight.
Winner: Asociatia Daruieste Viata, for the first Pediatric Oncology Hospital in Romania.
The award was handed out to Carmen Uscatu & Oana Gheorghiu, Co-Founders of Asociatia Daruieste Viata, by Maria Tudor, member of the Jury and Chief Media Officer and Business Development Lead, CEE, Publicis One.
“We’ve built a hospital and you are here because companies are the best partners for this projects. We’ll continue to fight to give children a chance in Romania”, said the winners.
In December 2017, Daruieste Viata Association raised more than EUR 4 million and managed to accomplish its objective to complete the budget needed for building the hospital: EUR 8 million. This is the first time in Romania that an NGO builds a hospital from scratch, only out of donations and sponsorships.
