A three part project called “Bucharest – Memory / Exploring / Imagining the city”, supports the official candidature of Bucharest for the 2021 European cultural capital, say event organizers. The project is meant to transform the city into a stage and protagonist of culture, while its residents become content generators.
The third part of the project is starting this week, inviting Bucharest inhabitants to “imagine the city”. Between July 14 and 30 the photo contest “My Bucharest” will unveil the city as seen by its people.
To take part in the contest, the photos must be sent to the organizers (see details here) and posted to social media outlets using the hashtags #bucuresti2021 and #bucurestiulmeu.
The best photos will receive prizes, while all eligible photos will be part of a final exposition at Hanul Gabroveni.
A program of events taking part during this period cen be found here.
The first phase, “the city memory”, took part during March 18 and May 15 and helped create a cognitive-affective map of the city, built from memories and stories from the people.
The second part, between June 26 and July 15, invited the Bucharest population to discover the city from a cultural perspective, offering innovative tours.
