The Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Romania (CCIR) appointed Stefan Deaconu by unanimous vote as president of the College of International Commercial Arbitration Court attached to the CCIR, a statement shows.
Professor Stefan Deaconu enjoys wide recognition among the academic community, being a doctorate of legal science advisor and member of the board of the Faculty of Law of the University of Bucharest.
Being a lawyer in the Bucharest Bar, Stefan Deaconu has public sector experience as director in the Romanian Senate (2004-2005) and presidential adviser, head of Legislative Constitutional Presidential Administration (2005-2012).
The election of Mr. Deaconu is a signal to the business and legal community to consider arbitration as a faster and more efficient solution for solving trade disputes than the way of courts, representatives of CCIR conclude.
