Russian oil major Gazprom has reduced gas imports to Romania by 15 percent on Thursday compared to the normal booked quantities, said Razvan Nicolescu, the delegate minister of energy, quoted by Agerpres newswire.

This is the second consecutive day in which the Russian company reduced its exports to Romania, after they were down 18 percent on Wednesday.

Romania has put in storage 2.4 billion cbm for this winter, about 1 billion cbm than the amount required by energy regulator ANRE. At present, the country’s production of gas amounts to 31 million cbm daily, while consumption stands at 16 million cbm. The unused gas is put into storage facilities, according to the department of energy.
