Dusan Wilms has ended his term as general director of Metro Cash& Carry Romania, the company announced today. He will be replaced by Gilles Roudy (pictured)
Wilms has held the position since 2009. This was his second term at the helm of the Romanian subsidiary. He previously held the same position between 1999 and 2005. Wilms will continue working within the Metro Group and some of his new responsibilities include coordinating the rebranding of the Real hypermarkets which weren’t taken over by Auchan. He joined the German retailer in 1998.
Roudy’s appointment comes into force staring December 1st. He previously worked as commercial director at Real International, a position he held since 2009. Prior to that, Roudy worked for Carrefour for 30 years. Some of the positions he held while working for the French retailer include CEO of Carrefour Turkey, Belgium and Poland.
Metro Cash& Carry has been present in Romania since 2006. The company presently operates a network of 32 stores in 24 cities.
