The Romanian Game Developers Association (RGDA), the first association dedicated to local game developers that opened in Romania last week is the first association in Romania that sets out to support and promote the local industry and contribute to the development of both industry professionals and newcomers.
“We needed a common ground of discussion, where the voice of every person involved in the industry can be heard, no matter if we are talking about game developers, startups or large companies,” says Andrei Istrate, cofounder RGDA.
“We are envisioning projects that have a real impact on the education and development of the many talents in this industry, but also projects that will inform and promote the real value they are adding in Romania.”
Developing an integrated information platform dedicated to the industry, organizing workshops for students and meet-ups for professionals are just some of RGDA’s projects.
Open both to professionals and companies, the association is supported by TIGA (The Game Developers Association) from the United Kingdom and one of the most important industry organizations in Europe.
RGDA has also made the first steps in establishing partnerships with the student association ROSEdu, with TechHub Bucharest and with the Association of the Software and Services Industry (ANIS).
