Over a quarter of the children in Romania are living in families who are surviving below the poverty threshold, according to a report made by UNICEF.
The United States are in the same situation, with 23.1 percent of children living in precarious conditions.
At the opposite pole there is Iceland, where only 4.7 percent of children are poor.
In France, this applies to 8.8 percent of children, meaning 1.3 million, of whom half are living in meager conditions and approximately 20,000 do not have a stable home.
The United Nations Organization evaluates the degree of poverty based on certain criteria such as the availability of three meals a day, of fresh fruit and vegetables, appropriate textbooks, fast internet connection and a quiet place to do the homework.
Northern European states rank the highest in offering children these conditions, while in countries such as France and Italy, more than 10 percent of children do not benefit from these facilities.
However, at the opposite pole there are Romania and Bulgaria, with 70 and 50 percent, respectively.
