The cable and fixed communication operator UPC registered higher results from its local operations in the second quarter of this year, according to the data published by Liberty Global, the owner of UPC.
The number of TV cable clients grew by 22,300 (2.6 percent) to 891,000 subscriptions while the number of users for TV satellite service Focus Sat grew by 32,100 (10.3 percent) to 344,900 compared with the same period of the last year. UPC offers TV satellite services also in the ‘prepay’ version, so that the exact number of subscriptions from the company’s turnover.
The total number of clients for video services grew by 54,400 (4.6 percent) to 1.2 million.
The number of clients for fix internet service grew by 51,500 subscriptions (11.2 percent) to 512,300 while the number of contracts for fix telephone service grew by 105,000 (32 percent) to 432,900.
The number of subscriptions was 2.182 million at the end of June, a growth of 210,900 (10.7 percent) compared with June 2015. The number of clients grew by 52,800 (4.4 percent) to 1.2 million.
The digital network UPC was expanded in 2015 to other 238,700 households, reaching a total of 2.6 million.
