Wine-maker Liliac is looking to increase its sales by more than 35 percent in 2016, after almost doubling the sales from 2014 to 2015 and after registering a turnover of RON 2.5 million in H1 2016.

” For the first half of the year we worked up a turnover of 2.5 million RON, which is better than expected. For 2017 we expect another growth of 20 percent, which will bring us very close to our maximum sales figures. As the Romanian market for premium wines is naturally limited, we are focusing more and more on the export market, here especially on the Benelux countries, the United Kingdom and we hope to start our sales activities in the US soon, ” Miron Radic, managing director of Liliac, exclusively told BR.

He adds that the main growth was established in the HoReCa segment, with the two brands Liliac and young.LILIAC. “Currently around 80 percent of our production is concentrated on those two brands, but for the future we expect our three retail brands, Lily, Crepuscul and Villa Radus to make up to a third of the total production.”

Moreover, this autumn Liliac will launch their first sparkling wine, a Rosé made of Pinot Noir. “As premium winery we have high demands to the quality of our wines, so the first vintage will be a smaller quantity, but we will grow this segment in future, ” says Radic.

“For the second half of the year we have still some surprises left. This year is the 5th edition of our young.LILIAC wine, a concept that we started on the Romanian market. So to celebrate this, we organize different young.LILIAC parties all across the country to promote the Facebook competition for this years’ label. young.LILIAC is not only a wine for young people, with this concept we also want to encourage young talents and their creativity, ” adds Radic.

Besides the sparkling wine, Liliac will also launch the new vintage of their top-premium line Private Selection by Liliac, which includes two red wines and their orange wine.

Liliac is a brand of amb Wine Company.
