Telekom and Ymens Teamnet, bidders for telecom infrastructure development of BNR

Telekom Romania Communications and Ymens Teamnet have bid for tender initiated by the National Bank of Romania (BNR) for the supply of equipments and services necessary for the development of its own communications infrastructure development and inter-banking communications network RCI.

The contract was estimated at RON 6.3 million, without VAT for a 3-year period, according to the data from the announcement, says profit.ro.

The communications data system operated by BNR supply services both for subsidiaries and its own territorial agencies, as well as for the banking operators.

The Inter-banking Communications Network (RCI) is an electronic system for communications with financial character, which ensures the infrastructure for the applications within the Banking Informatics System between the Romanian banks-companies and the subsidiaries from Romania of the foreign banks-companies, the other public/private persons that were authorized or that have bank accounts at BNR and the BNR headquarter.

BNR’s role is to elaborate, apply and respond to the monetary and exchange rate policy, authorizes, regulates and supervises the credit institutions, monitors the well-functioning of payment systems for ensuring the financial stability as well as the international reserves administration of Romania.
