National Authority for Fiscal Administration (ANAF) collected taxes close to RON 215 billion worth in 2017 and fulfilled the objective provided by the budget legislation, considering that the collection objective for 2017 was RON 214.37 billion.

“This amount represents the biggest annual collection of ANAF since 2003, when the institution was founded, until now. In 2017 were collected by RON 15.50 billion worth taxes more than in 2016,” says the release.

„The main factors were checking mainly the tax payers with high potential of fiscal evasion and fiscal fraud, as well as the monitorization and operative intervention in fields with high risk of fiscal evasion (excisable products, inter-community acquisitions, imports/exports operations),” says the release.

At the same time, ANAF made unannounced controls, actions specific to seasonal activity control and controls developed in collaboration with other institutions.

„Moreover in 2017 the amount value at the general consolidated budget was RON 217.12 billion, by 5.55 percent more than in 2016. The voluntary tax compliance increased from 84.03 percent in 2016 to 85.44 percent in 2017,” says the release.
