A report regarding the situation of children whose parents work abroad will be presented in September, says the Presidential Administration, which added that several hundred thousands children are separated from their parents.

„The situation of children whose parents work abroad is worrying, because it’s about a generation of children, in some estimations over 300,000, who is growing without guidance and family love, and risk not to sufficiently develop some skills in order to become fulfilled, active and productive citizens. One of the most stringent things that children with both parents working abroad confront with is the tutorial authority delegation, without which children lack the access to a series of services such as medical care, enrollment in education system and other benefits that they have right to, “ says the Presidential Administration.

In this context, an inter institutional work group met on Wednesday at Cotroceni Palace.

„The work group wants to contribute to the harmonization of statistical data, the gaps between institutions concerning the number of children in this situation being important. Moreover, this group will propose administrative and legislative simplifications and the setting up of some integrated public policies and innovative projects that would help this children and their families. As a result of the discussions from yesterday, the Group members divided in sub-groups, that will work independently on different identified projects and will elaborate a report that will be presented on September,” adds the Presidential Administration.

Among the members of the working group are the Presidential Administration, TVR and the Government.
