Asirom VIG appoints Florin Niculescu as head of underwriting-reinsurance division

Asirom Vienna Insurance Group (Asirom VIG) appoints Florin Niculescu as head of underwriting and reinsurance division.  

In his new position, he will target streamlining Asirom VIG’s general insurance portfolio and ensuring constant growth across all non-life segments. He will coordinate a team of 23 people.

Niculescu has nearly 20 years’ worth of experience in the insurance market. He has previously held management positions, both in Romania and abroad, in companies such as Uniqa Insurance, Generali Insurance, AIG Europe and Marsh & McLennan Companies.

“Asirom VIG today is stronger, more confident and ready to tackle both challenges and opportunities of the market. As such, we will continue to develop, focusing on long-term sustainable growth and a healthy performance,” said Juraj Lelkes, CEO Asirom VIG.

In the past year, Asirom VIG has taken important measures to boost operational efficiency, targeting to improve customer experience.

He is a graduate of the Politehnic University – Engineering Faculty, in Bucharest. Asirom VIG has a 11.4 percent market share and is ranked third in the insurance market, according to 2016 data released by the Financial Supervision Authority (ASF).

Asirom VIG is one of the leading insurance companies on the market with over 25 years of experience in Romania. It has a national network of 138 agencies, 1,900 active agents and over 300 external partners. The company works nationwide with 532 auto repair service shops and 31 correspondents for damage caused outside Romania.

Asirom is part of Vienna Insurance Group (VIG), which manages 50 insurance companies in 25 countries and has over 24,000 employees.
