ASTRA museum in Sibiu will exceed until the year-end 600,000 tourists and an year-on-year growth by 31 percent in the number of visitors.
Museums is visited more and more by foreign tourists, so that close to 35 percent of the overall visitors are from foreign countries. Germans, Austrians and Israeli are in top of nationalities that visited the museums.
Many of the Romanians that work in foreign countries come in Romania together with foreign friends and share with them the Romanian traditions, customs and museum atmosphere from ASTRA museum. Although many of the foreign tourists come from European countries, there is a high growth of the USA market, Australian, Asian and Arabic markets.
„We are glad about this growth by 31 percent in the tourists number in the ASTRA museum from Sibiu and we are glad that our efforts to organize frequently events to promote and keep the Romanian identity in the purest form on our museum, are appreciated. But we aim for the future to see growth of at least 2 digits annually,” Ciprian Stefan, the general director of ASTRA museum.
The biggest organized groups continue to come from Europe, especially from Germany, Austria, Hungary, while the tourists from France, Italy and UK choose small groups, mainly friends and family.
