BNR reserves down by 1.62 pct in July to EUR 34.6 bln

The reserves of the National Bank of Romania (BNR) went down by 1.62 percent in July to EUR 34.6 billion, compared with June, according to a release of the institution from this Tuesday.

During July there were entries of EUR 796 million, representing the change in minimum reserves in foreign currency made by the credit institutions, the entries in the Public Finance Ministry accounts and others.

Also, there were outflows of EUR 1.368 billion, representing the change in minimum reserves in foreign currency made by the credit institutions, payments rates and interests in the public debt account denominated in foreign currency, payments in the account of the European Commission, the depreciation impact against EUR of some currencies in the foreign currency reserve (USD,GBP, JPY ) and others.

„The gold reserves was maintained at 103.7 tonnes. In the conditions of international prices evolutions, its value stood at EUR 3.602 billion. The international reserves of Romania at July 31 were EUR 38.238 billion compared with EUR 38.842 billion at June 30,” said BNR.

The payments with maturity in August in the account of the public debt denominated in foreign currency, direct or guaranteed by the Public Finance Ministry, amounts to EUR 192 million.
