BNR revises Romania’s inflation rate down to 1.6 pct for the end of 2017

The National Bank of Romania (BNR) has revised the inflation rate in decrease to 1.6 percent for the end of 2017, said this Monday the BNR governor, Mugur Isarescu, when he previously forecasted a inflation rate of 1.7 percent.

For the end of 2018, BNR estimates an inflation rate of 3.1 percent, from 3.4 percent previously, and for the first quarter of 2019 is forecasted an inflation rate of 3.4 percent.

According to the BNR, the recovery of annual inflation IPC in the target interval is anticipated to take place in the first quarter of 2017.

For the end of 2017, BNR estimates an inflation rate of 1.9 percent, without the direct effect of the VAT quota reduction and of 2.6 percent calculated at constant taxes.
