The foreign reserves of National Bank of Romania (BNR) climbed by 1.8 percent in October to EUR 33.9 billion, compared with the previous month, according to a release of the institution.
During this month were inputs of EUR 1.96 billion, representing the change of minimum reserves in foreign currency of the credit institutions, the supply of the Public Finance Ministry’s accounts, the supply of the European Commission’s account, outflows of EUR 1.34 billion, representing the change of minimum reserves in foreign currency constituted by the credit institutions, interests payments and interests in the account of the public debts denominated in foreign currency and others.
According to BNR, the gold reserve was maintained at 103.7 tones. Taking into account the evolution of international prices, its value was EUR 3.64 billion.
According to BNR, the payments with maturity in November in the account of public debt denominated in foreign currency, direct or guaranteed by the Public Finance Ministry, amount close to EUR 161 million.
