BVB’s net profit gains 19 pct to RON 7.87 mln in 2016

The Bucharest Stock Exchange (BVB) registered a net profit of RON 7.87 million in 2016, a growth by 19 percent compared with 2015, on the back of growing revenues and the reduction of costs.

“The net consolidated profit of 2016 of RON 7.87 million climbed to 19 percent compared with the similar period of 2015 and was generated by 85 percent by the transactions segment of the Group, while the net margin went up to 25 percent (from 22 percent in 2015). The consolidated operational revenues registered in the third quarter of 2016 compared with the same period of 2015 went up by 2 percent to RON 8.63 million, while the generated revenues on the transactions segment of BVB represented RON 5 million of the total. The operational expenses at group level continued the decreasing trend, registering a drop by 12 percent, while the operational profit registered in the last quarter of 2016 climbed to RON 1.93 million,” said the BVB in a statement.

According to the BVB, the consolidated net profit of the group went up by 49 percent in the last quarter of 2016 compared with the similar period of 2015 to RON 3.58 million, mainly due to the operational results of transactions segment.

„Since the beginning of 2016, the cumulated increase by almost 4 percent of the consolidated operational revenues and the drop by over 6 percent in the consolidated operational expenses generated a combined increase by 89 percent of the operational profit up to RON 6.07 million and an increase by 8 percentage points of the operational margin. The transactions segment of the group generated an operational profit of RON 5.41 million in 2016,” says BVB.

The net financial revenue of 2016 of RON 3.09 million was registered mainly due to the revenues generated by the group’s investments in state bonds and deposits of RON 2.99 million, in decrease as a result of the liquidities level diminishing.
