CNAIR finished the documentation for the two ends of highway Pitesti- Sibiu valued at EUR 679 mln

The National Company of Road Infrastructure Administration (CNAIR) finished the documentation for the two ends of highway Pitesti-Sibiu valued at EUR 679 million, VAT included, considered by specialists as easiest development solution.

The highway Pitesti- Sibiu, part of Bucharest- Nadlac (A1) highway allows the uninterrupted traffic on the highway between Bucharest and the Hungary border.

The highway of around 123 km might be the first one that would cross the mountains, connecting Muntenia and Transilvania, over the Carpathian mountains. The highway went through many delays in the last years due to several studies over the five routes versions.

In March, CNAIR announced that it received the technical documentation for the feasibility study for the first and fifth section to evaluate the norms applicability.

The first lot of the first section, Sibiu-Boita, has a length of 13.2 km and the highway route will start at Selimbar. The estimated value of the contract is RON 911.3 million, VAT included. The length of the contract is nine months, out of which one year for projection period, three years for execution and five years for works guarantee.

The fifth section is located between Curtea de Arges-Pitesti and has a length of 30.35 km. The highway will start in Curtea de Arges and will continue up to the belt road of Pitesti. The estimated value of the contract is RON 2.18 for 10 years.
