At the beginning of 2016, the companies in Romania and Greece were on the last places from the European Union based on Internet usage, with 16, respectively 12 percent, while across the EU only 3 percent did not have a connection to Internet, according to the data published this Monday by Eurostat.
Among the EU countries with Internet usage, most of them (95 percent) used fixed internet on broadband. However, the mobile connections to internet on broadband are more and more common. In 2016, this type of access to Internet is used by 69 percent of the companies from EU, compared with only 28 percent in 2010.
Among the member states, the usage of mobile connection on Internet on broadband was the most spread among companies from Finland (94 percent), Denmark and Croatia (88 percent), in opposition with Bulgaria (45 percent), Romania and Greece (less than 55 percent).
Also, in 2016 close to 70 percent of the companies from EU supplied portable devices with mobile connection to internet for their employees.
