Competition Council approves Transeastern Power BV takeover of Petrom Wind Power

OMV Petrom Wind Power is taken over by Transeastern Power BV after the transaction was authorized on Monday, according to a statement by the Competition Council.

OMV Petrom Wind Power is a subsidiary of OMV Petrom group that administrates the Dorobantu wind park of 45 MW.

Transeastern Power BV is a Dutch holding company that works in energy production field (micro power stations, photo-voltaic energy and wind power). The company is a part of a societies group controlled by the Transestern Power Trust, a mutual investments fund that works according to the legislation in Ontario, Canada.

“The competition authority evaluated the operation of economic concentration from the point of view of its compatibility with a normal competition environment and from the possible effects of anti-competition according with the rules of economic concentration. The Competition Council’s analysis led to the conclusion that the economic concentration operation doesn’t rise significant obstacles in the way of effective competition on the national market,” stated the Competition Council.

The Council’s decision will be published on their official site after all the classified information is eliminated.
