Continental Tires continues EUR 1 mln environment investment in Timisoara

Continental Tires Timisoara, part of the Continental Corporation continues the environment investments by commissioning 12 axial ventilators in the curing area of the plant. The investment is part of the EUR 1 million environment protection program Timisoara.

Each of the 12 ventilators has a capacity of 14,000 cubic meters per hour and the average height of the exhausted air is around 40 meters.

Continental Tires Timisoara received the last environment authorization, in June 2010, following a complex analysis. As part of the authorization, Continental Tires Timisoara is committed to upgrade its ventilation system in the curing area.

Through the end of 2009, Continental invested over EUR 400 million in its Romanian operations. Continental has eight production units and three research and develop­ment centers in the cities of Timisoara, Sibiu, Carei, Arad and Iasi. Continental cooperates in a joint venture in Slatina and in
