Coworking space is a new concept of offices in Romania that covers a share of 1 percent of the total office stock which reached 3.4 million square meters in 2017, according to a study by Crosspoint Real Estate.

The total amount of Bucharest’s coworking spaces surface is of 28.000 square meters GLA which is 84 percent of the total available coworking spaces in the country. The largest amount was delivered in 2012

Most of the developers are small entrepreneurs with a few big players like Regus and Crossrider, says Crosspoint Real Estate. The company also expects the stock of coworking spaces to increase in the next years because of the IT sector’s contribution in Romania’s GDP and the new interest in small startup business and freelance activities.

Other cities with coworking spaces are in Timisoara (300 sqm), Cluj-Napoca (260 sqm) and Brasov (100 sqm).

The minimum lease period for an office space starts from 3 years, says Codrin Matei, head of Office Agency Capital Market and Business Development at Crosspoint Real Estate.
