Dacia car sales in Europe down by 2.1 pct in April

Dacia cars registered a decrease of 2.1 percent in Europe this April, but the market share of Dacia climbed to 3.1 percent from 2.9 percent in the similar period of 2016, according to the statistics of the European Automobile Manufacturers’ Association (ACEA).

The statistics data are available for EU countries and the ones of the European Free Trade Association (EFTA), respectively Island, Liechtenstein, Norway and Switzerland.

Dacia’s registration in Europe amounted to 37,647 units, a drop compared with April 2016 (38,451 cars).

The French groups Renault and PSA Peugeot Citroen registered sales falls in April by 2.9 percent, respectively 6.7 percent. The German group Volkswagen registered a decrease of deliveries by 9 percent in April, while Ford sales dropped by 11.5 percent.

During the first four months of this year, Dacia cars deliveries registered a growth by 6.4 percent in Europe and the market share of Dacia remained flat at 2.7 percent. Dacia’s registrations in Europe amounted to 148,755 units.

Renault and PSA Peugeot Citroen registered sales grew by 7.4 percent and one percent, while Ford and Volkswagen group registered an increase by 4.7 percent, respectively 1.5 percent during January-April.
