The largest DIY retailer in Romania, Dedeman, specialising in trading building materials and offering interior design solutions, opened on August 2 a new story in Iasi. The store replaced the Manta Rosie unit, one of the company’s first stores, in November 2004.

Dedeman’s new Iasi shop, located in Primaverii neighbourhood after an EUR 16.5 million investment, has a surface of over 15,000 square meters, double that of the Manta Rosie shop. It comes with a 400 places parking lot.

A total of 50 employees will be hired for the new shop, which will have over 220 employees.

“Although it passed through several stages of modernisation, the former shop could not be brought to our current standards, and we wanted all customers to benefit from this improved experience,” Dragos Paval, Dedeman president said.

The Primaverii shop is the third opened by the chain since the beginning of the year, and will be followed by the opening of a new shop in Turda.

Currently, Dedeman has 47 shops, two logistics centres and its own car park. The chain employs nearly 10,000 staff.
