According to data collected by Romanian spa portal DespreSpa.ro, the Romanian spa market had a value of around EUR 8.37 million in 2016, up by 9 percent year-on-year.

According to data centralized and published by the portal in the latest edition of the magazine Spa & Wellness Romania, in 2016 clients all over Romania purchased over 240,000 SPA services, with an average price of RON 150.

The spa market is expected to grow this year, at least by 7 percent, as it has been growing for the past five years and given that the market is still very small, Marian told BR.

According to Ioana Marian, DespreSpa.ro founder, Romania’s assets are its „mineral springs, muds, salt mines, mofettes, wild forests and mountains – where you relax just by listening to the sounds of nature during hikes, of spas that offer therapies with natural local ingredients (honey, salt, therapeutic herbs, mud, etc.) – so beneficial for our bodies!”

We want to attract in Romania that segment of tourists that go on holiday with the objective to rest, to find themselves, to rebalance themselves: physically, emotionally and spiritually and that to come back after the holidays much healthier and relaxed in a true sense,” Marian, who is also the President of SPA Romania Association.
