Social Democratic Party (PSD) chair Liviu Dragnes sent condolences to the families of victims of the attacks perpetrated yesterday in Berlin, Ankara and Zurich.
“Yesterday’s events in Berlin, Ankara and Zurich show how exposed we are in front of the wave of hate and violence. I express sincere condolences to the bereaved families! Even more, in such an international context, Romania needs stability,” the PSD head wrote on his Facebook page.
The Russian Ambassador to Turkey, Andrei Karlov, was shot dead by a Turkish policeman during the inauguration of an exhibition and died shortly after at a hospital in Ankara. Also on Monday, a truck entered the crowd gathered at a Christmas fair in Berlin, killing 12 and wounding 48. In Switzerland, in Zurich, at least three people were wounded after shots were fired near an Islamic center in the city. According to the BBC, the gunman was found dead a short distance away.
