By the end of the year the e-commerce market in Romania will be worth EUR 2.4 billion, while the global market will be worth a staggering EUR 1.87 trillion, up by 17 percent year-on-year, data by eCommerce Foundation shows.
“The market is continuously growing. For 2017, we forecast that we are going to reach EUR 2.3-2.4 billion in e-tail only. We are regularly analysing new projects within the GPeC competition and are continuously interacting with representatives of the local online shops,” Andrei Radu. founder of Gala Premiilor eCommerce (GPeC). “Thus, we see a sharp increase in the number of online shops in several categories, such as beauty, home&deco and children products,” he explains.
According to the report, over 53 percent of the clients that use online shops said that social media is directly influencing their consumption habits. Moreover, for Europeans, Facebook is and remains the main online communication and interaction platform with online stores, with a share of 85 percent.
At a global level, the e-commerce market will exceed in 2017 the value of USD 1.87 trillion, up by 17 percent year-on-year. The main markets are China, the United States and the United Kingdom.
GPeC will take place in Bucharest between November 14-15.
