Euro zone inflation rate to return in positive territory this month; In Romania, BNR expects 0.6 pct at end-2016

In the Euro area, the annual inflation is expected to be  0.1 percent in June  2016, up from -0.1 percent in May  2016, according to an estimation from Eurostat, the statistical office of the European Union.

Looking at the main components of euro area inflation, services is expected to have the highest annual rate in June (1.1 percent, compared  with  1.0 percent  in  May),  followed  by  food,  alcohol  &  tobacco  (0.9 percent,  stable  compared  with  May), non-energy industrial goods (0.4 percent, compared with 0.5 percent in May) and energy (-6.5 percent, compared with -8.1 percent in May).

In Romania, the BNR target for the inflation is 2.50 percent until the end of the year, the annual inflation rate is expected to be 0.6 percent, according to BNR documents.

Annual inflation is the change of the price level between the current month and the same month of the previous year.
