An investment of EUR 86.6 million will be made in Alba County’s potable water distribution system through the EU’s Cohesion Fund, benefitting 106,500 inhabitants.

EU Regional Policy Commissioner Corina Cretu stated: “Access to clean water should not be a luxury. The projects in the Cohesion Policy are a concrete example of how the European Union is involved in the well-being of its citizens and in protecting the environment”.

The project, which is co-financed by the European Union, includes the renovation and expansion of the waste water treatment system and the potable water distribution system in 23 communes in Alba.

Works will be completed towards the end of 2021.
