Eximtur posts EUR 26.4 million turnover in first five months of 2017

Eximtur recorded a turnover of EUR 26,4 million in the first five months of 2017, up by 22 percent yearon-year, the company announced.

Eximtur’s incoming activity increased in the first five months by 628 percent. The company’s most dynamic division, Eximtur Business, posted a 26 percent increase during the period surveyed, representing three quarters of the total turnover of the company’s turnover. According to company representatives, the growth is due to the expansion of the portfolio of business clients and to the increase in the number of trips and events organized for its existing customers. The company’s most important such event had 950 participants and took place over three days in Sibiu.

The most popular destinations among Romanians include the Romanian seaside, welness resorts, mountain resorts and the Danube Delta, as well as Spain, Greece and Turkey. Demand for the above-mentioned destinations increased year-on-year by one third, the study shows. Romania is also a popular destination among foreign tourists, in particular among Slovenians and those coming from Scandinavia, who receive paid holidays from their employers.

The most popular destinations at the Romania Black Sea resorts are Mamaia, Venus, Eforie Nord, Jupiter and Saturn. The average cost of a package in these resorts are RON 776 per person.

Sale of packages for the Romanian seaside increased by 29 percent in the first five months of the year, while sales of packages for mountain resorts such as Baile Felix, Sovata, Geoagiu Bai and Covasna, for Valea Prahovei, Valea Oltului resorts as well as for the Danube Delta increased by 76 percent compared to 2016, and were sold at an average price of RON 696 per person.
