Eximtur posts EUR 47 million turnover in 2016

Travel company Eximtur, specializing in travel business, events and leisure travel services, posted an EUR 47 million turnover in 2016, 14 percent more than in 2015. For 2017, the company forecasts a 5 percent growth.

The company’s business travel and events organization division generated 69 percent of sales, a press release informs. Growth was recorded on the back of the expansion of the business clients portfolio by 20 percent year-on-year, but also of the increase in the number of travel trips and events organized for existing clients.

Romania is the preferred destination of companies for organizing conferences, training programs and teambuilding events. The average cost of a service package that includes acommodation, food, conference and entertainment services stands at RON 486/employee. The number of accommodation, rent-a-car and transfer services increased by 17.5 percent. The most popular destination for this segment was Germany.

The expansion of the business clients portfolio, as well as the diversification of services offered to them, represents a priority objective for us. In order to offer clients solutions to optimize travel costs, we made in the past years investments of hundred thousand euros in travel technology, growing even further the skills of our team of consultants. Moreover, our company offers clients security through financial stability, solvency indicators, advance payment of services and at the set deadlines,” Eximtur president Lucia Nora Morariu said.

According to data posted by the company, over 80,000 of its clients chose Romania as a holiday destination, while 35,000 chose to spend their holidays abroad. Destinations in Romania recorded a 48 percent sales increase compared to 2015. The most popular destinations were located on the Black Sea coast, with sales increasing by 33 percent, reaching a figure of EUR 9 million. Next came spa destinations, mountain resorts and the Danube Delta, which overall recorded an 100 percent increase, with a sales volume of EUR 3 million.

The company’s solvency indicators stand as follows: solvency 2.16 percent, financial autonomy 54.07 percent, net assets EUR 2,391,486. In 2016, Eximtur had 236,000 clients and paid over EUR in million in taxes to the state budget.

For the past five years, Eximtur Business has been the hospitality partner of the Transilvania International Film Festival (TIFF).
