Finance Ministry: Growth stimulation, new jobs creation and migration among EU budget priorities for 2019

The growth stimulation, new jobs creation, the consolidation of cohesion and agriculture, as well as the internal and external migration are among the EU budget priorities for 2019, according to a release of the Public Finance Ministry.

The minister of Finance, Eugen Teodorovici, attended the meeting of the Economic and Financial Affairs Council configuration (ECOFIN).

“Within ECOFIN meeting was adopted the recommendation regarding the management of the European Commission for 2016 budget. At the same time, ECOFIN Council saluted the gradual reduction of the estimated global level of error of the European Court of Accounts, affecting all field that were audited, as well as the fact that, for the first time, the Court gives a rather point of view   regarding the operations’ frequency. Regarding the budget for the financial year 2019, the conclusions adopted in the ECOFIN meeting refer to the necessity of realistic budget, respecting the principal of financial well-management. The growth stimulation, new jobs creation, the consolidation of cohesion and agriculture, as well as the internal and external migration are among the EU budget priorities for 2019, says the release.

Within ECOFIN meeting were analyzed the sustainable financing at EU level, the budget priorities for the financial year 2019 and public acquisitions and strategic investments in EU.

The finance ministers from EU states debated the report of the work group at high level regarding the sustainable financing, as a strategy elaboration at EU level was needed.
