Fintech startups to have free access to mentoring sessions during TechHub Bucharest Fintech Month

This September, TechHub Bucharest will host Fintech Month, a program dedicated to Romanian Fintech startups. The attendance to the events that are part of the Fintech Month is free of charge and registrations are open on the program’s website – bucharest.techhub.com.

For 4 weeks, entrepreneurs interested in the financial services sector have the opportunity to meet with leading specialists such as Tomas Hanacek, CEO of Zalep, Ivan Milos, business development manager at Friendly Score and Imran Khan, communication manager at Wirex.

TechHub will host over 10 events dedicated to Fintech startups. Tech entrepreneurs who activate in this sector are offered free networking and mentoring sessions; the goal of this program is to support entrepreneurs and guide the industry towards new, innovative and powerful solutions.

The FintechMonth will officially start on September 7.

The CEE Fintech Ecosystem and Regional Opportunities for Fintech Startups

Tomas Hanacek, CEO of Zalep.to, an online platform that allows SMEs to sell their open invoices directly to a network of investors (without waiting up to 90 days for payment), and Ivan Milos, business development manager at Friendly Score, a platform that provides users with a score that certifies their level of reliability for future crediting will discuss about the Fintech ecosystem in the Central and Eastern Europe and about the opportunities Fintech startups have in this region.

Fintech Regulations and Security in the Financial Services Sector

Sergiu Sechel, manager, Technology Advisory Services at Ernst & Young, and Andreea Lisievici, attorney at Privacy One, a company focused on providing legal assistance related to various IT and data protection matters (such as cloud computing, cybersecurity, behavioral advertising, data retention or surveillance of employees) will be discussing about the most recent European regulations (including PSD2 and GDPR) and their impact over the financial industry, as well as the legal framework for startups that activate in the Fintech sector.

Cryptocurrencies: threats and opportunities

The series of events will continue with a panel discussion on the opportunities of cryptocurrencies. Imran Khan, Head of Communication at Wirex, Vlad Nistor, CEO of Coinflux and Nikola Skoric, CEO Electrocoin will discuss about how the rapid growth of the virtual currencies is impacting the rise of new business opportunities.

Security in the Fintech Sector

The series of events dedicated to the Fintech community will end with a panel discussion about security in the fintech scene, the threats Fintech startups are facing and how they can avoid them.

Beside the public events dedicated to Fintech startups and tech professionals, entrepreneurs interested in financial services can also attend one-on-one mentoring sessions with industry experts.

Fintech Startups can pitch their products and services in front of the community

Fintech startups that want to present their business in front of industry experts, promote their idea or gain valuable feedback from the community are encouraged to apply to Fintech Demo Night by TechHub Bucharest, a public pitching event dedicated to startups developing financial technologies.
