Garanti Bank appoints Iuliu Muresan as deputy general manager

Garanti Bank, one of the most dynamic banks on the local market, appoints Iuliu Mureșan as deputy general manager, responsible with coordinating Risk Area activities: Risk Management, Internal Control, Compliance and Corporate Governance.

He will carry out his new responsibilities after completing the authorization process with the National Bank of Romania (BNR).

With more than 17 years experience in the banking industry, Muresan has strong knowledge in the area of risk management, previously having held the position of chief risk officer and executive board member within Bank Leumi Romania.

“We are happy to welcome Iuliu Muresan into Garanti Bank’s team. With his strong knowledge, professionalism and experience, he will bring a significant contribution to our organization as a whole, as we continue our plans of growing on the local market,” said Ufuk Tandogan, CEO Garanti Bank.

The new deputy general manager of Garanti Bank is a graduate of the Economic Sciences within Babes-Bolyai University in Cluj-Napoca and has a Masters’ Degree in the same field, obtained at the same university. He has developed his career mainly in the areas of Risk and Control systems, Strategy and Financial management, holding various senior management positions.

Garanti Bank is part of the financial-banking group Garanti Romania, which brings together Garanti Leasing (the brand under which the company Motoractive IFN SA operates) and Garanti Consumer Finance (the brand under which Ralfi IFN operates).

Garanti Bank is held by Turkiye Garanti Bankasi AS (TGB), Turkey’s second largest private bank.

Present in Romania since 1998, the bank has developed a solid portfolio of clients and expanded its national presence through branches and alternative channels.
