Government expands investment categories that can be financed within the national program of local development

The Government approved today a project of Emergency Ordinance that expands the investments categories that can be financed within the national program of local development, with an emphasis on education and health. The national program of local development was expanded by 9,500 investment objectives, most of them in the education field.

According to a release, the legal previsions concern the realization, expansion, rehabilitation, modernization, the furnishing of pre-university learning units, nursery, kindergartens, primary schools, high schools, national colleges and other pre-university units and of the sanitary units. Also, public illumination systems can be constructed or upgrades/expanded, especially in the rural area.

For the first stage of the program, investments objectives for financing on December 31 2016, funds will be allocated according to the law, until their finalization.

Starting with 2017, the second stage will be developed, with 9,500 new investments objectives in the domain related to the public investments in the local infrastructure being financed.

Out of these, 2,500 are nurseries and kindergartens and 2,000 are pre-university units. For these it is ensured the multi-annual financing until their finalization.

Starting 2017, under the sub-program “Superior education state institutions”, the Ministry of Regional Development, The Public Administration and European Funds, will enure a financing priority for 30 student hostel of superior education state institutions, until their finalization.
