Grindeanu: It’s high time we had at least one ATM in every village besides churches, mayor offices and schools

PM Sorin Grindeanu said this Monday at the Financial Market Forum that the financial-banking education of the population is a field where “we need to do more, as it’s high time we had at least one ATM in every village besides churches, mayor offices and schools.”

“In 26 years of activity, Romanian Association of Romania became the financial-banking industry from Romania and one of the most important Romanian professional association. We aim an ambitious theme, a vision or 2020 in the current international context. It’s ambitious because we are working with many unknown things (…) but I know that we all want the same thing: a dynamic, prosperous Romania, connected physically and virtually to the European infrastructure,” said Grindeanu.

“The school indeed increases the level of Romanian financial education, but it’s also your role to explain better the instruments and advantages especially in the areas where the banking coverage is reduced. The rural Romania is still unattractive financially for you and I can understand this, but maybe it’s high time we had at least one ATM in every village besides churches, mayor offices and schools. I ask you to think of the huge potential of the rural area that comprises currently half of the Romania’s population and unlimited opportunities, in my view,” added the PM.
