Herbalife Romania boosts sales by 42 percent in 2011 after increasing the number of distributors by nearly half

Herbalife’s sales in Romania reported the second highest growth rate in Europe, the Middle East and Africa after growing by 42 percent in 2011 y-o-y. The hike comes after the nutrition, weight-loss and food supplements company managed to increase its number of local distributors by 44 percent last year.

Herbalife posted growth for the third consecutive year in 2011,said Dorota Seidler, sales and marketing director of Herbalife Romania.

Worldwide, Herbalife Ltd. reported net sales of USD 3.5 billion, a 26 percent increase on 21 percent volume growth compared to 2010. For the same period, the company reported adjusted net income of USD 413.3 million, reflecting an increase of 35 percent compared to the adjusted 2010 results.

Herbalife is a multi-level marketing (MLM) business, selling its products exclusively through a network of independent distributors who earn from. The company is headquartered in Los Angeles but it is incorporated in the Cayman Island.
