Holcim Romania invests EUR 39,000 in new tools for informatics laboratories of two Middle Schools

Over 500 pupils from Middle School Nanu Muscel in Campulung and Middle School Petre Tutea in Botosani benefit starting from November from the Holcim Romania’ investment of EUR 39,000 in new tools for informatics laboratory.

The current investments consists in 58 new desktops, two projectors with projection screen, the necessary electric materials for the computers’ installation and furniture for the class rooms.

“We live in a period when the digital area cannot be ignored, especially when we are talking about the training of the new generation. This is why it’s necessary for schools to put at pupils’ disposal the tools they need to study informatics,” said Alina Cristea, manager sustainable development Holcim Romania.  

“The new informatics laboratory is a place that attracts the pupils, a place of electronic constructive interaction. Holcim succeeded to meet our needs at the right time, in the school year when Informatics has become mandatory subject for the middle school,” said Steluta Popescu, the director of  Middle School Nanu Muscel in Campulung.

One of the pillars of Holcim Romania Plan 2030 is to support the local community.

Holcim Romania is present over 20 years in the constructions materials sector in Romania, owns 2 cement factories in Campulung and Alesd, a grinding station, 14 concrete ecological units, 3 aggregation units, 2 special binders units and cement terminals in Bucharest, Turda and Roman.

Holcim has approximately 800 employees in Romania.
