The retail turnover volume on gross series increased by 9.3 percent in first eight months of the year, compared with the similar period of 2016, mainly due to the sales of non-food products, according to the National Institute of statistics (INS).
According to the statistics, during January 1- August 31, the retail turnover volume on adjusted series according to the number of working days and seasons, also registered an increase by 8.4 percent due to the sales in non-food products (12.5 percent), fuels retail for cars in specialized stores (11.2 percent) and sales of food, beverages and tobacco (3.8 percent).”
On the other hand, on gross series, the retail turnover volume increase was due mainly to the non-food products 912 percent), fuels retail for cars in specialized stores (11.9 percent) and food products, beverages and tobacco (+4.8 percent).
The INS data also shows that in August 2017 compared with August 2016, the turnover retail volume ( except for cars and motors retail), on gross series, registered an increase by 15.9 percent due to the sales in non-food products (+18.5 percent), in fuels retail for cars in specialized stores (+18.4 percent) and sales of food, beverages and tobacco (+10.9 percent).
Also during this interval, the increase on adjusted series was 12.6 percent.
In August compared with July, the turnover retail volume increased both on gross and adjusted series.
