INS: Romanian unemployment rate up to 6.1 pct in July

The Romanian unemployment rate seasonally adjusted was 6.1 percent at the end of July, a growth by 0.1 percentage points compared with the previous month (6 percent), according to the International Work Office, says the National Institute of Statistics (INS).

The number of unemployed people aged between 15 and 74 years, estimated for this July current was 546,000, a growth compared with the previous month (534,000 persons), but a decrease compared with the same month of the previous year (624,000 persons).

The gender ratio shows that the male unemployment rate overpassed the female one by 1.9 percentage points.

The unemployment rate for the adults aged between 25 and 74 years was 5.1 percent in July (5.9 percent for males and 4.1 percent for females).

The number of unemployed people aged between 25 and 74 years represented 78.7 percent of the total number of unemployed people in July.
