Real estate consultancy JLL has appointed Mike Atwell to lead its capital markets business in the CEE region and in the Czech Republic from October 1.

Based in Prague, he will oversee a team of more than 30 capital markets experts across CEE, serving domestic and international clients who are looking to buy and sell real estate across the region. His responsibilities will include setting overall business development strategy for JLL’s capital markets activities in CEE and the Czech Republic specifically, working closely with local and regional teams.

Atwell brings 30 years’ worth of experience in international real estate consulting. He joins JLL after five years at CBRE where, latterly, he spent two years as head of International Capital Markets France. Prior to this, he was head of Capital Markets for CEE for three years, based in Poland. Previously, he held senior positions at Cushman and Wakefield as managing director Middle East operations and head of Capital Markets for CEE.

Matthew Richards, head of Capital Markets, EMEA, JLL, said: “The European investment landscape is shifting and we are witnessing ever-increasing flows of capital into the Czech Republic and other CEE markets from international investors into multiple real estate sectors. As client needs evolve and investment strategies develop, Mike’s leadership will ensure that we continue to help our clients identify opportunities, navigate complexities and, ultimately, achieve their investment ambitions.”
