Key move. Bitdefender appoints Andrew Philpott as sales vice-president in EMEA area

The Romanian software producer Bitdefender appointed Andrew Philpott as sales vice-president in EMEA area and Joe Sykora as vice-president for sales channel development through partners at global level.

„During this intense growth period at Bitdefender, Philpott will play an important role in our efforts of expansion in Europa, bringing over 20 years of leadership and experience in technology and cyber security solutions sale,” said Vincent Schiavo.

Philpott will lead the security sales growth strategy for companies in EMEA region. He will responsible for the expansion of the company’s brand in the key markets and the development of commercial relation with the partners. To support this growth, Bitdefender will grow the enterprise sales team, as well as the internal team of sales for small and middle clients.

„The Bitdefender solutions portfolio has a tradition of over 16 years and it’s made to deal with the most frequent security issues of the companies. I am eager to help clients solve the challenges specific to the infrastructures used,” says Philpott.

Philpott joins Bitdefender team after a career in IT security, building and leading sales teams from EMEA of some American companies, such as Secure Computing, McAfee and more recently, Forcepoint (former Websense).

Moreover, Bitdefender appointed also Joe Sykora as vice-president for sales channel development through partners at global level. Sykora will work in the headquarter from Santa Clara, California. He joins the company after seven years at Fortinet and has over two decades of experience in IT security industry.
