Key move. Michael Beitz is the new CRO of BCR

Michael Beitz is the new CRO of BCR, taking the role and responsibility of vice-president of Risk starting January 1, 2018. He was previously BCR’s vice-president of Risk and workout during 2010-2014.

Bernd Spalt, the currently vice-president of Risk (CRO), will become vice-president of risk at Erste Bank Austria and at the same time the fourth member of the executive committee of the bank. Moreover, he will coordinate all the aspects related to risks strategic management of Erste Group.

„As a result of the recent changes of the management within Erste Group, we remain strongly dedicated to the maintenance of a balanced risks management within BCR, taking into account the recent reorganization of the bank, as well as the leadership continuity. Michael Beitz was CRO and CWO within BCR for a long time and knows in detail the bank and the country. We are glad about his risk management experience in the region,” Manfred Wimmer, president of the Committee of Surveillance of BCR.
